• Instructor bio: Connor Phoennik received his B.A. in linguistics with a minor in Arabic from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. While still an undergraduate student, he began learning Biblical and modern Hebrew. In 2020, after spending time abroad in Algeria and Lebanon, he entered a graduate program in Semitic languages at the University of Texas at Austin, where he added Aramaic, Akkadian, and Ugaritic to his repertoire. Phoennik obtained his M.A. in 2023 and now resides in his hometown of Pittsburgh.
